We would like to welcome new varsity boys basketball coach, Chris Siebert.
Siebert comes to Oregon with a strong basketball background as both a coach and a player. Chris played at Baraboo High School, went on to play for Lawrence University, and then played for the USA Division III men’s basketball team in Brazil. Siebert was a three-time all conference selection at Lawrence, and finished his career as the fourth leading scorer in school history. Over the last ten years, he has gained experience coaching boys and girls of all ages and skill levels, including: the highest levels of AAU basketball around Wisconsin; two years with the Baraboo High School girls program; and two years with the Franklin High School boys program. During Siebert’s time on staff at Franklin, the Sabers enjoyed their two winningest seasons in school history.
“I see the chance to lead the Oregon Basketball program as a dream opportunity,” said Siebert. “We will bring a confidence and passion for the game that will encourage Panthers of all ages. Our program will build confident and committed student athletes, teach what it means to be a great teammate both on and off the court, and strive to develop positive role models in the community. We will compete at the highest level, and we will play fast, play smart, and play together. ”
Siebert has an undergraduate degree from Lawrence University (History, 2014) and is currently working on his Master’s degree in school counseling at Concordia University.
