Coach Wamsley enters his seventh season as the head coach of the Panthers. In Wamsley's sixth season, the Panthers experienced one of their best seasons in program history, by finishing with a 18-9 record, their sixth straight winning season and capturing their 8th conference and 8th regional championship in team history. 

The Panthers continued their winning ways in Wamsley's fifth season, finishing tied for 3rd in conference and a 14-12 overall record,  marking their 5th straight winning season, which hadn't been accomplished since the 1978-83 seasons.  In 20-21, Wamsley's fourth season, the season was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  After starting the season 0-2, Oregon reeled off seven straight wins, including a regional win over Middleton.  The Panthers season ended in the Regional Semis by top seeded Waunakee.  Oregon finished the season with a 7-3 record, marking the 2nd consecutive season the Panthers have won at least 70% of their games, marking the first time this has happened since the 1981-82 and 1982-83 seasons. 

Oregon made history in Wamsley's third season.  The Panthers finished the season 21-5, capturing the outright Badger South Conference title and securing Regional and Sectional Championships. Oregon was state bound for the first time since 1980. In his second season, the Panthers finished 4th in conference by winning 10 of their last 12 games.  Oregon received the 4th seed, a bye and a home game, against DeForest in the Regional Semi-FinalThe Panthers finished 14-9 on the season.  Oregon took its first step of being a perennial conference contender in his 1st season.  The Panthers finished 16-8 overall, 3rd place in the Badger South and advancing to the Regional Championship Game. 

Coach Wamsley took over the Oregon program after leading the Albany girls’ basketball team from 2013-2017.  Prior to coaching at Albany, Wamsley was an assistant coach with the Oregon boys program for six years.  From 2007-10, Wamsley was the Freshman Boys Basketball Coach.  He was the Varsity Assistant under Coach Jon Nedelcoff from 2010-2013.  The Panthers won a regional championship in 2012.  Wamsley also had coaching stops at Iowa Grant, Shullsburg and Waunakee.

Wamsley currently teaches Business Education at Oregon High School.  Previously, he taught in the Albany School District from 2014-2018.  Prior to a career in teaching, Wamsley was a video coordinator for the UW athletic department for seven years.   He served as video coordinator for the University of Wisconsin women’s basketball team during the 2012-13 season. Wamsley holds a master’s degree in Sports and Recreation Administration from Western Kentucky (2012) and has an undergraduate degree in Communications from UW-Platteville (2005).

Wamsley is a 2001 graduate from Cassville High School where he played under Hall of Fame coach, Dennis Uppena.  The Comets were Div. 4 State Champions in 2000.  Wamsley earned 1st-team All-Conference his senior season.  He currently resides in Oregon with his wife, Dana, and children, Addison and Breckin.
