Mackenzie is excited to be rejoining the girls basketball coaching staff for her 2nd year as Varsity Assistant. This will be her 9th year of teaching at Oregon High school. In her four years as a student at Wausau West HS she earned second team and honorable mention honors in basketball and softball. As a senior, she led her team to a state basketball appearance in 2010 winning the first game in OT vs. Middleton, and falling to De Pere HS in the second game. She graduated from University of WI - Stevens Point with a degree in English Education. Her coaching career began in college when she assisted under Pat Galligan and Jason Teske for three years at Wausau West HS. She assisted the Oregon JV and Varsity teams during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. In addition, Mackenzie served as a youth basketball coach for grades 6-8 over the past several years, and was an OYBL board member last year (2021-2022). While Mackenzie's passion is to coach and support high school student athletes, she enjoys serving and developing the younger grades as well. She currently resides in Oregon with her husband (Mitch), daughter (Arya 4yo) and two dogs (Penny and Piper).
